分布式航天器系統技術實驗室于2012年獲總裝備部批示，依托上海交通大學建設。重點面向遙感觀測和在軌服務等航天領域發展需求，依托仿真控制、人工智能、數據挖掘和力學分析等技術，開展衛星編隊、集群和和星座的設計、規劃、控制與仿真等研究。2017年11月通過裝備發展部組織的一期現場驗收，當前正進行二期建設。
實驗室成立以來，在預研方面，承擔了國家自然基金、航天基金、裝發高分專項、天軍預研和國防863等多項課題。在裝備研制方面，支撐并完成我國首個衛星編隊系統th-2的編隊方案設計與地面系統建設。同時，作為l波段差分衛星系統的副總師研制單位，承擔了衛星編隊設計和控制等任務。獲批上海交通大學首個科工局型號裝備條件保障建設項目，實現建設和科研經費雙雙突破億元。在gcd、tac和signal processing等本領域國際期刊發表高水平學術論文近百篇，建有完整的衛星編隊技術理論研究體系和工程實施條件。
實驗室擁有973首席、領域專家組成員和型號總師。針對"十四五"及國家未來發展規劃，面向海內外公開招聘控制科學與工程，計算機科學與技術，儀器科學與技術，航空宇航科學技術，力學等相關學科的優秀人才。

the distributed spacecraft system technology laboratory was approved by the general armament department in 2012 and built on the basis of shanghai jiao tong university. the laboratory focuses on the development needs of the aerospace field such as remote sensing observation and in-orbit services, relying on simulation control, artificial intelligence, data mining and mechanical analysis and other technologies to carry out research on the design, planning, control and simulation of satellite formations, clusters and constellations. in november 2017, the laboratory passed the first-phase on-site acceptance organized by the equipment development department, and is currently under construction for the second phase. since its establishment, the laboratory has undertaken a number of projects, including the national natural resources foundation, the aerospace fund, the high score special project for equipment and development, the space force preliminary research and national defense 863.in terms of equipment development, the laboratory supported and completed the formation scheme design and ground system construction of china's first satellite formation system, tianhui-ii. at the same time, as the deputy chief division of the l-band differential satellite system, it undertakes the task of designing and controlling the satellite formation.
approved by shanghai jiaotong university, the laboratory initiated the first model equipment condition support construction project, the construction and scientific research funds both exceeded 100 million yuan. nearly 100 high-level academic papers have been published on international journals in this field such as gcd, tac and signal processing, and a complete theoretical research system of satellite formation technology and engineering implementation conditions have been established.
